February 25 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pmFree
Type: Outdoor Photo Workshop
The Cool Things You will See, Do, and Learn: Join us as we photograph magnificent rescued thoroughbred race horses. After a hard life of racing and injury, these beautiful horses have retired to a life of relaxation on a 15 acre rescue and rehabilitation farm. We will have the opportunity to photograph them as they run, play, roll around, drink from a pond, and maybe even pose for a portrait or two.
Activity Level: low to moderate, walking in pastures
Things to Know: MUST wear closed toed shoes. There is no entrance fee, however, they are a non-profit, rescue organization so tipping of the animal handlers and/or donations to the facility are highly recommended. They would also appreciate you sharing any photos of the horses with them after the event.
What to Bring: You will want some wider angle lenses for capturing multiple horses together along with lenses for photographing individual horses and portraits. Beyond your usual camera gear, you are welcome to bring carrots and/or apples as treats for the horses during the session and/or to leave with them for later. Since this is a non-profit organization, if you would like to bring anything on their Wish List, please feel free.
