Daytime Long Exposure Photography
February 25 @ 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm EST$0.00
Type: Outdoor Photo Workshop
The Cool Things You will See, Do, and Learn: Daytime long exposure photography is a unique way of capturing landscapes for a totally different look. Using long exposure (several seconds to even minutes) will smooth out running water such as waterfalls and rapids, turn rough choppy water into a smooth surface, create streaks in clouds which can border on the abstract, allowing you to capture busy populated scenes by virtually eliminating people and moving vehicles. The workshop will feature several ways to capture long shutter exposures during daylight hours and we will seek out the best locations to capture long exposure images. A handout will also be provided to explain how to simulate long exposure photography in Photoshop using a couple simple steps.
Activity Level: Low to Moderate. We will be photographing locations which may require a short hike to get good angles, but much can be photographed from near the vehicles.
Things to know: There is a $5 per vehicle park entrance fee, which can be paid by cash or credit. There are also 2 nominal tolls on the way into the park so we suggest having change or a Sunpass handy. Due to the fees, we recommend carpooling for this location.
What to Bring: camera and tripod with good solid head. Optional, but recommended: remote camera trigger or shutter release, ND filters (6-10 stop are best) or variable ND filter, polarizer filter.
