HDR Done Right

February 26 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am EST

Type: Outdoor Photo Workshop

The Cool Things You will See, Do, and Learn: HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography allows you to photograph a scene as your eyes see it, but which your camera cannot capture in one frame due to the high contrast in the scene.  However, HDR is not without its critics, and can be a complicated technique to master.  In this class we will teach you what HDR is, when it’s the best option for a photograph, and the details on how it is done.  Just as importantly, we will teach you when not to HDR, common pitfalls to avoid, and and how to produce results that look great, not artificial.

The goal of this class is to make people look at your shots and say “Wow, Great Image!” not “Wow, you sure HDR’ed the heck out of that!”.

Activity Level: Low. Light walking for best angles.

Things to Know:

What to Bring: Telephoto and wide angle lenses will both be very handy in this workshop. A tripod is virtually a must but there are ways around it if you don’t own a tripod. Knowledge of your camera’s exposure bracketing capabilities and manual exposure ahead of time will come in handy.
